Principals

Frank joined the firm in 1989, became a Principal in 2001 and President in 2023. He is a Building Technologist with extensive experience in building design / construction, and building code and fire protection consulting.

James joined the firm in 2003, became a Principal in 2011, is currently our Board Chair, and leads our Toronto office. He is an honours graduate of the Fire Protection Engineering Technology program at Seneca College.

Kieran joined the firm in 2021, became a Principal in 2023 and currently leads our Calgary office. He has acquired 16 years of experience in Fire Engineering / Life Safety Consulting, coupled with a MSc in Fire & Explosion Engineering.

Shawn joined the firm in 2005 and became a Principal in 2016. He is a graduate of the Building Technology Program at BCIT and a registered Applied Science Technologist with the ASTTBC.

Dave joined the firm in 2004, and became a Principal in 2011. He is a Professional Engineer registered in BC, AB, MB, ON and NS, and is a Certified Professional (CP). Dave is the current Chair of the CP Advisory Committee of Vancouver and leads the LMDG Fire Modelling group.

Eric joined the firm in 2000 and became a Principal in 2016. He is an Architectural Technologist with extensive experience in Building Code review and inspections.

Erin joined the firm in 2006 and became a Principal in 2019. She is a Professional Engineer registered in Ontario and Manitoba, with a B.Eng. in Civil Engineering from McMaster University.

Mike joined the firm in 1994 and became a Principal in 2016. He is a Professional Engineer registered in B.C., Alberta, Ontario, and Saskatchewan, with a B.A.Sc. in Civil Engineering from the University of Ottawa, as well as a Certified Professional.

Raluca joined the firm in 2015, and became a Principal in 2022. She has obtained a B.Comm. (Accounting) from Ryerson University and has more than 10 years of experience in accounting.

Ryan joined the firm in 2001 and became a Principal in 2016. He performs drawing and field reviews and varied project work, including the preparation of building code alternative solutions.

Troy joined the firm in 2015, became a Principal in 2019. Troy is a member of the Ontario Building Officials Association.

Past Principals

Emmanuel is one of the founders of LMDG. He retired as a Principal and the President of LMDG in 2023 but continues to provide services to our projects and clients as a Senior Building Code Consultant. He is a professional engineer registered in B.C.

Alan stepped down as a Principal and transitioned into his role as Senior Advisor in October 2023. With his extensive experience in design/construction, building code review and building permit administration, he continues to provide services to our clients and projects in his new role.

Aba has a B.Sc. in Civil Engineering from KNUST in Ghana and received a Master of Applied Science in Civil Engineering (Fire Safety Engineering) from Carleton University with a thesis on mass timber connections.

Allie is a Professional Engineer registered in Ontario, Alberta and Quebec, and has a B.Eng. in Mechanical Engineering from McGill University and a Master’s in Fire Protection Engineering from Worcester Polytechnic Institute.

Allison graduated with distinction from the Architectural CADD and Graphics Technician program at BCIT. She has 10+ years experience in building code consulting.

Carlos went to Imperial College London in England and received a Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering. This year, he passed the CP course and has experience working on CP and IP projects.

Carly graduated from the University of Waterloo School of Architecture and is a registered Architect with the OAA and the AIBC. With diverse work experience in Toronto and Vancouver, she is driven by creative problem solving.

Carly Saringer

Chuang worked as a project/mechanical engineer for approximately 10 years before joining LMDG in 2023 as an intermediate code consultant. He also completed a master’s degree at McMaster University.

Evan completed 3 work terms with LMDG as a co-op student. Evan has his Bachelor of Applied Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of British Columbia.

Fredrik has his Master of Science in Civil Engineering from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology. Before joining LMDG, he spent six years working as a Building Code Consultant and Fire Safety Engineer in Norway.

Fredrik Loeksti

Hong completed his Ph.D. in computational methods for combustion physics in mechanical engineering at UBC prior to joining the fire protection industry. He is currently a Professional Engineer in British Columbia.

Jonathan graduated form the University of Southern California with a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering. With five years of experience in code consulting, he focuses on delivering innovative solutions to technical challenges.

Juan Pablo is a Mechatronic Engineer with a Master’s in Engineering on Mechatronic Product Realization from Simon Fraser University. He has previous experience as an EIT Fire Protection Engineering and Building Code Consultant.

Shijun holds a Ph.D. in Civil Engineering with a focus on structural fire safety from the University of Waterloo and is a licensed Professional Engineer in Ontario. She has 12 years of experience in both industry and research, specializing in fire protection.

Soman joined the firm with previous fire protection engineering and building code consulting experience in Canada. He is a Professional Engineer licensed in B.C., Ontario and the Yukon Territory and is a Mechanical Engineering graduate.
