New Royal Alberta Museum

The landmark Royal Alberta Museum made the move to a location with rich history itself – along the Canadian Northern Railway line. The new building’s design creates a continuous flow, a dialogue, between the interior and exterior while not overshadowing the artifacts themselves. It skillfully draws people together from all walks of life to explore new ideas and perspectives as they travel back in time.

The building itself is also an impressive feat of sustainability as it is not just LEED Gold Certified, but also designed for a 100-year service life!

LMDG employed the use of Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) modelling and a Timed-Exit Analysis (TEA) in order to achieve solutions that would bridge the gap between the project aspirations and what would become the reality.
