Vancouver House

Vancouver House is an iconic tower located in Vancouver’s new Beach District, completed in 2020. It’s shape-shifting exterior is an innovative and exciting solution to the site constraints it was presented. With only a small piece of triangular land, the 59-storey tower and three additional buildings were designed to reclaim space by shifting from a triangular base to a rectangular top. It uses a unique structural system that allows this design to be very sturdy.

The project greatly benefits the community as a highly functional and efficient use of this difficult space. It is a mixed-use highrise building that includes 375 residential homes, 106 rental homes, as well as new retail, workspace, and amenity space.

Vancouver House won many awards including the Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat “Best Tall Building Worldwide” and the Architecture Foundation of British Columbia “Award of Design Excellence”, both in 2021 alone. It is also proudly certified as a LEED Platinum building, incorporating many sustainable features such as green roofs.
